Not sure what to say?

I had the opportunity to get to know and interact with John when he was a member of the Board of Directors and Chair of the Audit Committee at Xilinx Inc. (now part of AMD). John was very encouraging, supportive and always provided useful advice and guidance during our interaction. Also he had a great sense of humor. He will be missed.

John was an influential and friendly mentor to me , providing advice, encouragement and opportunities at HP Labs and outside. He is missed by many.

So sorry to hear this. Went to high school with his wife and loved seeing them together at our HS reunions.

Missing John, he was always an interesting man to talk to and led n impressive and inspiring life. What better to pass away with a song in your heart.

I began working directly for John at HP Palo Alto in 1982, and I subsequently married Nancy Young, the daughter of the family who...

i had the pleasure to work for HP for a number of years and met frequently with John and always left those meetings having learned something new. Truly a one of a kind gentleman.
