John was a great friend for most of our lives. I was best man at his wedding and he and Eloise, my wife Gloria and I hung out together for years afterwards. He and I played music together in a dance band called the Embers and then the Checkmates back in the 60's. Those were fun years and John was always learning new songs that he wanted to play.
