Not sure what to say?

I was so sad to find this out through our high scool website. I grew up as neighbors with john. He helped me build the best treehouse ever (little did I know about his engineering skills). He let me borrow his shoes for track (very big shoes to fill literally). And we worked together at Hardies. My sympathies to all who loved him. He was a great guy and childhood friend who always wore a smile.

To the entire Elvin family, we would like to send our sincerest condolences and hope that you find strength through John’s memory. It was an honor to have known him.

John’s passing has left many of us with a monumental gap. I cannot understand what it is like to lose a son, brother, or father. Sorry does not seem like a strong enough word to describe the grief we all feel.

John worked extremely hard. He was always so competitive to which at times we never knew if started a project, or what point he was at, but never had to worry about his crossing the finish line. Over the past 14 years, “Turtle” has helped me countless times, both...
