Not sure what to say?

I was his classmate at Devilbiss HS. Don't know why I don't remember him, as his life is very similar to mine. I gradjuated from Dental School at Ohio State University and spent many years in Hawaii. Developed a mile of oceanfront on the Big Island.

I saw John’s obit in ChŊ News recently. I met John Fackler only once when I was about 7 years old, but he left a lifelong impression and inspiration which changed my life. His father knew my father and he visited us for a Sunday dinner in Toledo, probably as he was traveling back to Cleveland to CWRU. First, he predicted when and where we could observe the Echo satellite passing overhead which we indeed saw. Then he taught me how to make a rocket out of recently used wine bottle and the...

We never met but my mom (Liz Fackler Jones) had plenty of stories to tell and enjoyed spending time with you and Naomi while visiting College Station. When I was at UC Irvine, dating a chemistry student, imagine my surprise seeing your name on a textbook and my boyfriend's surprise that I was related to the author ! Peace to the family from Liz's crew (Tracey, Michelle, Brian, and Julie)

nd the three brothers are reunited at last. Perhaps Uncle John will keep them in order, or perhaps the chemistry experiments continue. Miss you all!

We will miss his warm and friendly face, and he will be dearly missed by so many friends. I (Elizabeth) especially enjoyed working with him on church committees at Lord of Life. He was a joy to be around, as well as intelligent, creative, and helpful. Hugs to his family.

Rest in peace John.

Holding close family and friends in prayer as you celebrate John's life and legacy. I know he is reunited with loved ones gone before and wish those who grieve God's peace and presence. Fondly, Ellen Fackler Gamrath and family

John was a second father to me. Listless from a small Texas backwater and with questionable potential, he saw things in me I did not. John was patient with me. He crafted me into a chemistry researcher, shepherding me to a PhD and a great career. I still love and practice chemistry to this day. Without John, I don't know if any of this would have been possible. I love you very much, John. I am crying as I type this, though I am also filled with joy in knowing that you are in paradise with our...

Rest In Peace, Dr. Fackler. As a chemistry major at Case Institute of Technology in the 1960´s, you mentored me and many other students during your tenure, and you guided them on their future journeys with your sincerity and professionalism.
