John Fedash Obituary

John A. Fedash
John A. Fedash, 67, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 13, 2020, at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Honesdale, Pennsylvania.
Born in Jersey City to the late John and Anna (Dottie) Fedash, John grew up in Cliffside Park then moved to Fredon as young teenager. This is where his love for firefighting and rescue began. John graduated from Newton High School and attended the University of Maryland.
A Newark firefighter for 37 years, it was a career that John loved. A great achievement in his career was when he became Captain, retiring on September 1, 2010. John was also a big fan of motorcycle and car races. He was an active member of St. Joseph R.C. Church in Newton.
John is survived by his son, Jim Fedash and wife, Odessa, of Newton; his brothers, Dave Fedash and wife, Mindy, of Florida, Steve Fedash of New York State, and Paul Fedash and his wife, Joana of Newark.
Services are private and are under the direction Smith-McCracken Funeral Home, 63 High Street, Newton.
Online condolences may be offered to the family at www.smithmccraackenfuneralhome.com.
