Not sure what to say?

To the Fell family,
I remember Mr. Fell from my days teaching in Elmira. His paintings were prized and often given as retirement gifts. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
Our hearts grant immortality

in memory.

Mr. Fell always had a kind word to say to everyone who passed by his door, whether they had a class with him or not. Being from the South it was nice to hear something other than that harsh northern accent in the halls.

"J.R" was the finest instructor and mentor I ever had. He was the one teacher who tolerated my radical behavior, and actually offered guidance, without being judgemental. I will miss him very much.

My condolences.
Mr. Fell advised me to study ceramic engineering at Alfred University and recommended me for the program. I am grateful for his career advice.
He was good friends with my mother Arlene "Buzzy" Mustico who worked at EFA with him. She and Mr. Fell passed away on the same day, 5/24/2009.

Ceramics was my absolute favorite class because Mr. Fell made it so much fun. It didn't matter how good you were he encouraged everyone. It was a free and easy atmosphere, a far cry from the rigid teaching methods we endured in the 60's! Mr. Fell is painting some outrageously beautiful scenery right now.

He was the best teacher I ever had. He made me want to be a teacher. I have all ways wanted to be as good a teacher as my art teacher.

I have thought of Mr. Fell whenever I see the ceramic pieces that I made in his class. I had absolutely no creativity, but I remember his kindness and his patience with my attempts. He is truly one of my happy memories of EFA. I will forever be grateful to him for his encouragement. May he rest in peace.

Although I was not the most artistic student in the class, Mr. Fell always encouraged everybody (including me) to do our very best. He was a great guy with a passion for art, excellence, and people.

Goodbye Mr. Fell you are the best art teacher I have ever encountered.
