John Glanville

Dr. Glanville was full of light and delight as he taught Medieval Philosophy. I loved to listen to his lectures, copy his diagrams from the board, and I loved to read his comments on my papers. This was a magical time studying philosophy in the mid 1970's. He made the past come alive. Philosophy was not a game for him, but a window into the good, the beautiful and the true. He was both a scholar and a good person. May his memory be for a blessing.

Dear Carol and Family. I was sadded to learn today of John's passing. He was like an older brother to me from the far off days of his time at Notre Dame and Chicago. Heartfelt sympathy. Tony
