i am the former New Haven Chess Champion. John and I played many times in Mystic at Bartleby's Cafe. He was already the oldest player in the club when we met but he still had a lot of fight left in him over the board. These are his best games against me, the computer annotations are in parenthesis. Our deepest sympathies to Louise and all of John's family. John was our real estate agent for our home we have lived in for nearly 40 years now. John was a gentleman and enjoyable to be with. I could always count on John for a good laugh or two. He beat me me shooting pool and was fantastic at chess. Heaven will welcome him with open arms.

I knew John from Pfizer in the 30 years I spent there. He was a very friendy and helpful person. Like many other employees, he was also my realtor and I bought my first house thru him. My condolences to his family, he will be deeply missed.
