I knew John for at least 40 years in the ice business. As my territory decreased I lost contact with him except for seeing him at the National conventions. He always greeted me with a smile and remembered who I was. I remember him for his highly ethical business policies. He will be missed by old friends like me, by family and by his many business contacts who, I'm sure, hold him in as high esteem as I do.

I knew John in the Corvette Marque Club for three decades as a competitor's toughest competitor. I shared his passion for America's ONLY true sports car: the Corvette! John was always upbeat with a great sense of humor; everyone admired his love of speed. We truly enjoyed collecting trophies at the awards banquets. If the 14 inches of Portland snow melts, I...
