DeLucia Family

May 8, 2023

Dr Hall treated four generations of DeLucia family members (great-grandmother, grandparents, parents, and children) and nearly had the opportunity to treat a fifth generation. He was a gift to the B/CS community and beyond. Grateful for his excellent care of us, we extend our sympathy and condolences.

To the family of Dr. Hall, my sincere sympathies on your loss. Moving to town in 1991 to set up practice, Dr. Hall was one of those giants of an established physician that I wanted to grow up to be like. I appreciated his sweet demeanor and willingness to share his experience with the next generation of doctors.

My husband and I moved to College Station in August of 1975. Our first baby was due 9-10 days later. People at our Church referred us to Dr. Hall. What a wonderful blessing he was to us! He delivered our first 7 children. Even though he had retired from delivering babies, he came to the delivery of our next two children. He took care all of us. He was compassionate and reassuring and so very kind. He had a wonderful sense of humor. One time I was going in for an OB appointment and he had clipped a cartoon for me of a stubborn toddler and his exasperated Dad. I remember he was a man of great faith. I took great comfort knowing that he believed in the power of prayer. I will be forever grateful that he had an opening in his practice and that he accepted me as a patientSending prayers of comfort to you all from the Nixon Family.

I'm sorry for your lost. Dr. Hall was a good doctor. I watched him provide care for my whole family. Grandparents, aunt's, uncle's, cousins and of course my mom & dad and siblings. When my mother worked for them she would express that"they are such good people" And how she loved working for them. He was the kind of doctor that you could call at home and even during the night. You could describe what you were feeling then he would tell you what to do at home then call him in a prescription the next day. His bedside manner was A+! I would see him from time to time shopping at Walmart or HEB and we would conversate. Once he was putting his groceries in the car and I noticed him looking for something in his bags. So l asked him if he was ok,he replied yes. He took his "cupcakes" out of the bag and got in his car. I guess he had a "sweet tooth". He was really missed after closing his practice and surely will be missed now.

Dr Hall was such a wonderful man, and physician. He was our family doctor for 3 generations, and I often worked with him while employed at St Joseph Hospital.I really admired his soft gentle voice with his patients, even at the worst moments, his compassion, and his love for people. My deepest condolences to all of you. Yolanda, I have not stopped thinking about you since I learned of Dr. Hall´s passing. I have an idea as I remember my Mami when she lost the love of her life, Papi. What a kind and wonderful gentleman Dr. Hall was. His smile said it all. My last memory was running into him at an Estate sale about two or three years ago. May he rest in peace. My prayers to all. I will share a portion of the "Old Irish Blessing."
May the road rise to meet you
May the wind be always at your back
May the sun shine warm upon your face
The rains fall soft upon your fields
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of his hand Amen!

With love, Patty Fleitas

" When someone you love becomes a memory, that memory becomes a treasure." May the memories you all share remind you of the treasure that John was. I served on the FSC board with John for several years and found him to be a most dedicated man consistent with his values and beliefs. May he may know of the blessings of eternal life and may you all have comfort and peace.

Dr. John Hall was a true treasure in our community and he was extraordinarily compassionate towards his patients. We were neighbors when I was growing up and I remember him making house calls. He took care of my brother, Jimbo and my mother thought Dr. Hall was the greatest. People use the term "GOAT" now and that definitely describes Dr. Hall. My love and sympathy go our to Mrs. Hall, Maida, Chris and the entire family.

When I married my husband John, Dr. Hall was his doctor and so I had the opportunity to become his patient also. I loved Dr. Hall, he was a wonderful doctor with a strong Catholic religion. I remember a visit with him and I was having some issues with pain in my hand. Dr. Hall told me that the best remedy he could offer was hot soapy dishwater, he said this with that beautiful smile of his. It became a cure all remedy for all of our ailments. Dr. Hall set the standards very high and I have only had one other doctor that almost met his standards. Peace be with his family as they lay to rest a great man.

I didn´t look forward to going to DR HALL´S office but I enjoyed seeing him. My mother, father sister, my wife and daughter were all patients. Dr Hall was easy to talk to - he even made home visits once in a while- terrific bed-side manners-
I´d come across Dr Hall once in awhile at the grocery store- it was a pleasure to see him.
Dr HALL will be missed!

Dr. Hall was the greatest doctor this town has ever know. He would set and listen to everything you had to say...was never in a rush. Was always patient and kind...never said a harsh word to anyone. Even more so, the greatest boss. He always made time for his wife, Yolanda, if she came in the office to see him, he would drop what he was doing and go see her. They broke the mold when they made him. Prayers are with you Yolanda and family.
