Not sure what to say?

I was sorry to learn of John's passing. While I did not know him well , I appreciated what a great superintendent he was in the Fridley Schools. John made many real contributions to the development of schools in the metropolitan area. While he was an excellent financial manager, he never lost sight of how to use the financial resources of his district for the benefit of the children and young people he served. It was a privilege to know him and to enjoy him and Dorla Dean during their work in...

When I joined Fridley Schools Dr. Hansen called me into his office and said he wanted to talk to me about my retirement. I had only been in the district about a month and had no plan of retiring so I was a bit taken aback...but I followed his request and went to meet with him...It seems he had reviewed my employment and learned that I had cashed out retirement funds in two former districts. I had done this as at that time not all the districts were in the same retirement organization as...

John had some funny sayings and stories, always with a wry sense of humor and wisdom woven into them. He seemed to be a disciplined, financial wiz. John Hansen was a man that I developed a great respect for. I served on the Fridley School Board for 9 years and learned to appreciate his intelligence, his integrity and his passion for education. He lead when appropriate and followed when required. His knowledge of school finance was outstanding.
On a personal note--I have benefited from John's knowledge of computers, especially Apple computers. He introduced me to Skype and to Kindle and we think of him every time we use either system....

Dad, Thank you for your love, humor, and all that I have learned from you.

You were the best dad ever! Thank you for your love, dry humor, and all that you have taught me.

Joan Teskey
