Dr. John "Jack" Heitner

I'm just hearing of Dr. Heitner's passing after randomly looking him up. I took his Mysticism course during my last semester at CCSU around 2000. We read 'The Case of Charles Dexter Ward" by H.P. Lovecraft. That book and his class exposed this engineer to the wonderful world of fantasy/supernatural works that I still enjoy 25 years on. To all others who knew and appreciated Jack (Dr. Heitner): I had a class in humanitarianism (I'd call it) with Jack in the 70s at then-called Central Connecticut State College. Jack was one of the most principled men I've known. He set the highest example for moral thinking. I have missed his classes, and our conversations out of class, for many years now. He was a friend as well as my professor. Kind regards to all who feel the loss of him. Dale Reynolds
