John Francis "Jack" Herbert III

Jack and I were friends for 68 years. We both graduated from Baltimore Polytechnic Institute in 1953. Thereafter, both of us studied engineering at Lehigh University. We both became brothers of, and lived in the Phi Sigma Kappa fraternity house. My wife Ellen and I arranged a "blind date" for Jack with Diane Deland (she was a high school and college friend of Ellen). Jack left Lehigh to study law in Baltimore.
