RIP. Father.....from LaCabeza Devaca.

Was saddened to learn of Father Hurley's passing through our alumni newsletter. "J.J.", as he was affectionately known, taught us respect for all peoples. The exposure to other cultures afforded to us through the Model U.N. simulations proved invaluable. He was, "truly one of the finest teachers that any of us had the pleasure to learn from". N.E.C.H. '73

I have so many fond memories of Father Hurley while at Bishop Ireton. He was always the champion of the freshman class (the underdogs) and was fondly known to all as Din-Din, as he would always walk through the freshman lunch period and ask for bite of your candy bar. Rest in peace Din-Din.

Father Hurley you will be missed. His guidance helped me (and many others) succeed in high school. I have so many great memories of him. He was truly one of a kind. Rest in peace.

Rest in peace Father Hurley. Your presence at FLHS in Daytona touched so many lives, mine included.

He also performed the sacrament of marriage for four of our children. Our son Henry and daughter in law Jan were married in Fairfax Staion, Va. Ten years ago this week he...

I have so many great memories of being in Father Hurleys classes! He was truly gifted with the way he made us laugh and really want to listen and learn from him. Some teachers fade from our memories but not Father Hurley. He was an original and will be sadly missed by all who knew him. Keep making people laugh in heaven and rest in the peace of our dear Jesus Christ.
