John Kaatz Obituary


Family-Placed Death Notice

KAATZ, John John R. Kaatz, Ph.D., 80, of Alpharetta, passed away on March 10th, 2011. He was a retired Associate Professor of Economics with the College of Management at the Georgia Institute of Technology for twenty-five years. John is survived by his devoted wife of 55 years, Patricia "Pat"; sister-in-law Lucille Kearney, nieces Karen Filkil, Kristine Kearney, Kathleen Kearney, Kimberley Campo and nephew Matthew Kearney. A Memorial Mass will be held at 10 A.M., Friday, March 18th 2011 at St. Benedict's Catholic Church, 11045 Parsons Road, Johns Creek, Georgia. A celebration of his life will be held for family and friends at 2820 Gleneagles Pointe, Alpharetta, immediately following the Mass. Roswell Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Dear Pat: I was so shocked and saddened to see John's obituary in today's AJC. It's been years since I've seen you all, but I still remember fondly the good old days of our friendship at Georgia Tech, and of seeing you regularly at the Symphony. Please accept my sincere sympathy.
