Mr Kachin was my teacher friend from across the hall at Ivanhoe in Gary. He was a role model to both children and teachers. His artistic talent was matched by few. He will be missed by so many. I will miss our yearly exchange of Christmas cards but will hold fond memories of him through my years.

Mr. Kachur was the epitome of a gentleman. I enjoyed working with him in the Adult Ed. Program with Gary Community Schools. My sincere condolences to his family and friends. Please keep in mind the scripture at Act 24:15. You will be in my prayers.

He was 5th and 6th grade teacher in 68-69. He inspired to always want to be my best. I´m sure glad I was able to be a part of Pittman Square reunion 7 years ago.

I was saddened today to see that Mr. Kachur had passed away. I had many great teachers at Pittman Square in Glen Park but he was my favorite. When he was going to get married to his wife, I with the help of my parents organized a collection of money from my 6th grade class to give to them as a shower gift. Last year May after I posted in The Times newspaper about my 31st wedding anniversary, a couple weeks later I received a beautiful card & letter from him, it made my day to think he...

Mr. Kachur was my 5th and 6th grade social studies teacher in the early 80s at PittmanSquare Elementary. He was easily one of my favorite teachers, I remember him playing the old radio programs for us like the Shadow. He had an amazing impact on my life and I do not have the words to express how much he meant to me. Thankyou for your service to our community and our Country. Rest Easy Mr. Kachur, we'll take it from here sir! Prayers to his family in there time of grief and loss. May God wrap...
