John R. ?Scrapper? Keenan--84, Of Stoneham, formerly of Somerville, passed away on January 3, 2015.

John was the beloved husband of the late Mary (Gauley) and the loving father of Terence Keenan of CA, Wayne Keenan and his wife Brenda of Methuen, Pamela Miller and her husband Paul of Stoneham, and the late Brian Keenan. He was the father-in-law of Teri Amuzzini of Randolph and the brother of Therese Martin of Florida, and the late Thomas Keenan, Dorothy Molinari, Marie Ferranti, Katherine Pagano, George and Edward Keenan. John was also the dear grandfather of Christopher, Kristen, Alison, Brian, and Matthew and is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Calling Hours on Friday, January 9, 2015, from 4-8 p.m. at the George L. Doherty Funeral Home, 855 Broadway (Powder House Sq.) in Somerville. A Funeral Home Service will Saturday morning, January 10, at 11:00 a.m. followed by interment in Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett.

Prior to his retirement, John was an electrician for Boston Edison.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to New England Shelter for Homeless Veterans, 17 Court St., Boston, MA 02108

I was saddened to hear of Scrapper passing. I still remember the many stories he would tell .He wasn`t just an old friend but one of the funniest man I ever knew (back in the 1950`s)RIP old friend.Harold Pennington
