My deepest condolences to Elyse and Jacob on John's passing. We shared so many good times together beginning when our families met in Geneva in 1997/1998. I always loved John's sardonic wit and appreciated his well informed opinions on politics, trade, his beloved Scotland, people in general. We spent some fun times together skiing in Switzerland, dinners back and forth, and enjoying several wee drams at the Kingery house in Great Falls, Va. I miss you, John. Rest in peace, friend.

John offered friendship and kinship as fellow Americans abroad in Switzerland and in France, and at 15 employed myself and a friend in settling in his home in France. We have had many happy times since... I miss him already. His wife Elyse and son Jacob are in our hearts and prayers.
