My colleagues and I are deeply saddened to hear of John's passing. John was instrumental in helping us launch Dolphin SMART in Southwest Florida. With this program, he helped bring additional education, outreach, and conservation to dolphins in the Ft. Myers area. John will be sorely missed.

I'm so sorry to hear of John's passing. He was one of my favorite people; knowledgeable, upbeat, generous and compassionate, a dedicated educator and environmentalist who taught thousands of people how to live lighter in the planet. Our hearts are heavier with his passing and the world a sadder place. I'll always remember his kindness an optimism in teaching young people with an energetic, fun and inclusive philosophy. He was a natural leader.
