KNOWLES, John D. John D. Knowles "Chumball", age 77, of Jupiter, FL, passed away August 9, 2018 at Jupiter Gardens Rehabilitation Center after a short battle with cancer. He was a commercial fisherman for over 50 years, and an electrician for 11 years while he lived in Pennsylvania. He will always be remembered for catching all those "goat" fish on the Seasport Dock and making cast nets. He attended the Church of God of Prophecy in Riviera Beach for years until he became so sick. He loved the Lord and would always talk to his friends about Him. He was the son of the late Granville and Maybelle Knowles. He is survived by his wife, Sarahan; three sisters: Bonnie Larson of Palm Beach Gardens, Linda Rudloff (Ed) of Martinsburg, WV, and Jeanne Summerall (Mark) of Blairsville, GA; two sisters-in-law, Mildred (Cuppy) Knowles of Canton, GA, and Connie Knowles of West Palm Beach; daughter, Michele Knowles of Greenville, SC; two sons, John of Philadelphia, PA and Jeff (Faye) of Broomall, PA; step-son, Rodney Carroll (Cindy) of Jupiter, FL; five grandchildren: Lauren and Jeri Knowles of Broomall, PA; Olivia Knowles of Greenville, SC; Riley Carroll of Orlando, FL; Parker Carroll of Jupiter, FL, and numerous nieces and nephews. There will be no service at this time; a memorial service will be held at a later date at the Jupiter Inlet. The family would like to thank the nursing staff at Royal Manor Nursing Home in Royal Palm Beach and Jupiter Gardens Rehabilitation Center in Jupiter for their kindness to John.
