John KOCH Obituary

KOCH,
John "Jack" Russell
In Loving Memory - John "Jack" Russell Koch, 71, of Jupiter, FL, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, March 1, 2016. Jack was born in Springfield, MA on July 17, 1944 to Dorothy and Russell Koch. He graduated from Classical High School in Springfield where he was an outstanding athlete who played on the baseball, hockey and football teams. He then attended Monmouth College in Illinois where he studied history and political science. Jack was a member of the Theta Chi Fraternity, played on the football team and graduated with a bachelor's degree. After graduation, he joined the United States Army and served in the 1st Battalion of the 6th Infantry during the Vietnam War, where he attained the rank of Sergeant. He received the Purple Heart Medal and a Bronze Star for his heroic service to his country. After his military service, Jack was employed by the Mobil Oil Corporation in sales. From there, he moved on to become a successful businessman operating multiple gas stations throughout Massachusetts and Connecticut. You would often find Jack on the links as he was an avid golfer. He enjoyed numerous outdoor activities which included sailing, fishing, hunting and snowmobiling. He and his wife spent their winters in Florida and their summers in the Southern Berkshires of Massachusetts. He also enjoyed cooking for his family and loved to grill. Jack leaves behind his wife, Barbara Heilman Koch; his three children, Amy Green and her husband Jake, Mindy Heilman and David Heilman; his two siblings, Robert and his wife Patricia Koch, Honey and her husband Jon Moore; his grandchild, Lucas Green and five nieces and nephews, Jon Jr., Heather, David, Nick and Courtney. He was preceded in death by his previous wife Carolyn Koch. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on March 19, 2016 at Jupiter First Church, 1475 Indian Creek Parkway, Jupiter. My deepest sympathy to Barb and Jack's entire family. He had a zest for life and lived it to the fullest. I am so grateful to have spent the last 3 weeks enjoying his cooking, awesome hospitality and stories of Mobil days during his midnight munchies. He will be missed by all those he helped on our Jusuru team also. God bless you, Jack. Love, Arlene Monti
