John R. "Papa" Linke

John Linke was a person in my life i will not soon forget. He was an imposing figure with a gentle quietness about him. His booming voice and big laugh was always good to hear. He was my cousin and i spent many wonderful days with he and his family while growing up. I especially think of John as i entered young adulthood and all the help and advice he offered when i needed it. I will miss him.

It is with great sadness that I heard about the passing of my cousin John. We grew up together and shared so many wonderful times. I followed him closely from his football days at Rufus King High School, to Marquette University and his postgraduate studies at Detroit University. Oh, such fond memories as we (Bruce and I) would spend time with John and Dolly. We would visit together, share stories, dine, and see some great shows too.
