Not sure what to say?

Mr Lloyd was my band instructor from 93'-97' and earlier while attending 5th grade class at Lowell elementary. I remember that first day of school my freshman year at Stadium, I was nervous, as any freshman typically is, it's a big transition from middle to high school. The moment I walked through the door to his class, I heard from the back of the room where he had a small office "Mr. Mitchell!" He recognized me from elementary school as well as my last name, as he had also taught my older...

Mr. Lloyd was my first band teacher when I was a fifth grader at Lowell Elementary School. I was determined to be his student in High School, too. He put up with me and encouraged me and that's what a good instructor does. I now share a passion for music because of my relationships with my fellow High School classmates. We went through the school of Lloyd's hard knocks. "Practice at home, not here!", he would shout.

I feel fortunate to have had Mr. Lloyd as a teacher of mine for my four years at Stadium. I was in band with Nicholas Senn and echo his comments. Mr. Lloyd was a tremendous teacher, mentor, and instructor. The lessons we learned from Mr. Lloyd extended far beyond the classroom. They were life lessons and had a meaningfully positive impact on my life. May he rest in peace.

Jack Lloyd was an extraordinary band director, educator and high achiever! I was fortunate enough to be a member of his Stadium High School Concert Band that was invited to compete in Vienna during the summer of 1972, over 50 years ago. Additionally, we performed throughout Europe with world famous trumpet player Raphael Mendez! This was an experience of a lifetime for a 17 year old kid from Tacoma. I will forever be grateful to Jack and want to express my heartfelt condolences to his family!

I'm just one of the thousands whose lives were made better and richer by "Mr. Lloyd" at Stadium HS. Thanks for the inspiration to have music be my priority in life!

I have had many great teachers in my life, he was the best. That´s no exaggeration. I was kind of a goof off in class. He knew how to handle me, but when things were serious, they were serious. I always respected him and I know he knew it too.

He loved teaching and music. I enjoyed his band class. He was a special man. May he rest in peace and prayers to his family.

I loved being in his band class and having him as a teacher. He taught us so much. He will be greatly missed.
