Not sure what to say?

I have thought and thought about what I could possibly write about John Marquis, Sr. and his passing. The first thought that came to mind was how incredibly fortunate we were to have met this wonderful, intelligent, charming and pleasant man some 9 years ago. We were welcomed into his wonderful, fun and loving family and spent the next 9 Thanksgiving Holidays with them, which we will cherish and uphold forever. His sister, Patricia and I made a trip every year down to Bellville to the annual...

I was deeply saddened to hear of John's passing. I have known John since the days at L.L.Pugh Elementary School, as I was a Denver Harbor (po-dunk) kid, too. We went on to McReynolds Jr. High and then to Stephen F. Austin High School to graduate in the Class of '66. John was always a good friend, a great athlete and fun to be around. I will cherish the memories of our school days and class reunions. John was a terrific person, who will be greatly missed by many. My thoughts and prayers go out...

In the relatively short amount of time which I knew this beloved man, I was priviledged in getting to know him, priviledged in being able to visit him at his ranch, and I was also priviledged in being able to share a few hearty smiles and laughs with this great man. I respect this man more than he probably realized, and it was an absolute honor to have known him. It is with great sadness and confusion that we mark his untimely passing. However, though his house on Earth may not have been...

So sorry to hear of John's passing. He was a great guy. Thoughts and prayers to all his family and friends. Will always remember before school in the boy's gym when John would practice making those "last minute game-winning shots" the length of the court. He was one of the "good guys".

We are so sorry to hear of the loss of John. Our prayers and thoughts are with all of the family. We had the opportunity to meet John once at his ranch. It was a enjoyable time. We know he will be missed.

John was a good friend - Austin High classmate (c/o '66) - 'down the road' neighbor. We talked and laughed about 'po-dunk' kids done good!!! He will be missed.

Your family will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Found out only yesterday that we lost John. As a high school classmate and "old" friend...can only say wonderful things about John. The last class reunion was awesome and he had a ball...Lots of laughing ...but what a loss...so sorry to hear....what a neat guy...I know God has a special place for him...a new Mustang...in heaven! My prayers to his children and loved ones.. We will miss him!
