John McIntyre died quietly in his home February 11th, 2009 after several years of battling cancer. He never gave up, and only recently closed his sporting goods business of 30 years. Not sure what to say?

What to say when your dad passes away?
He had a lot to give to everyone.
Creatures of god are not here to stay.
I was fortunate to be his son.

A list of things I thank my dad for are;
random acts of kindness,
a sensible sort of blindness,
rocky roads in the pick up truck,
quirky jokes & good luck,
catching and eating more fish than any other,
a sister & a brother,
camping trips,
chicken lips,
digging ditches,
willow switches,
shooting...

Thanks, Tonya, Daryl and Mark for all the time and travel you did to be with John in his last days and for bringing all 5 of our grandchildren to see him. He was so blessed to have you kids. You will be blessed for showing such respect for your father.
Thanks, Gail, for being at his side. Thanks, Steve, Les and Kathy for visiting him so much. I love all of you.

Joanne McIntyre

Dear Gail and family- What a shock to return to Redding and hear of your loss of Mac. He was one of our mainstays of the area and of the fishing industry. He and my late David shared such good years planted in the fising industry. It treated and rewarded Mac well, and made him the rough, personable and memorable cornerstone of the Trinity River run of towns. Like the river, the memory of Mac will run long and deep! My love and sympathy. Jeanne Stammet

Thank you for sharing your memories about my Dad. He will be missed and was truely a unique person. I appreciate all of you taking care of him in his last days and know you will be blessed.

Dear Sis,
Our love and prayers are with you always. It was truly a blessing to pray over John and be with you the night before his passing. I know that God has shown you much through all of this. Continue to grow through and as a result of this. Be strong in who you are and live in the joy and strength of God's love. We love you!

Dearest friend, There are no words that can take away the pain you are feeling at this time. I am so glad you are looking toward the future. John was a wonderful person and now he is at piece. Keep the faith and keep being strong. There are many people out there that know and love both of you. We will be here for you when you need us. With love and friendship. Ron and Jean Naylor
