John Maxwell "Jack" McNeary

I remember Jack as a wonderfully curious man who had the energy and concentration to follow up on his interests with a scope and intensity that was, at times, astounding. Whether the interest was fly fishing, fly tying, bee keeping or raiding Koi fish, Jack pursued it with a passion and knack for innovation. He leaves a legacy of fly tyers whom he trained from from novice to expert. I will miss his companionship and humor on expeditions to trout streams.

Jack was a generous mentor and advocate for those of us who like to trout fish. He was quick to volunteer and attend activities with our local TU group: Rocky River Trout Unlimited. And he was always out front when it came to organizing and leading the RRTU fly tying every winter season. When I was in a leadership position with RRTU I remember that Jack was always bringing ideas and future thinking to our meetings.
