John Miller
December 11, 1929 - March 24, 2021
Charlotte, North Carolina - Mr. Miller, 91, passed away Wednesday, March 24, 2021 at his home in Charlotte. He was born December 11, 1929 in Springdale, PA.
Mr. Miller served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War in Adak, Alaska and was employed by Eastern Airlines for over 34 years. He was a member of the Local Lodge 1725 Machinists Union over 50 years and served as a Trustee, Recording Secretary and also as President several times.
He enjoyed having a garden and giving his vegetables to his doctors and nurses and neighbors. He also enjoyed going to the beach collecting shells, shark teeth and all types of fossils.
At Christmas time he decorated pine cones and wreaths and gave them to doctors and nurses and friends and neighbors. He enjoyed watching wildlife and feeding birds, squirrels, chipmunks and rabbits and watching the hawks fly and hover in the sky. He is also remembered for his love for his cats.
Mr. Miller is survived by two daughters and one son, Cora Miller, Ellen Frank (Charles) and John Andrew Miller; and two granddaughters, Becky Frank and Tracy Gabriel (Josh); as well as his great grandson, Cameron.
A private graveside service with military honors will be held at Sharon Presbyterian Church Cemetery where he will be laid to rest beside his wife, Ellen McCall Miller.
