Not sure what to say?

I am so sorry for your loss. Jack was an exceptional person. As an attorney, I came to know Jack as he handled the sale of personal property for me in estate matters. However, I loved to discuss history with him, as his knowledge of history was enormous. He truly will be missed.

Mike and family - my deepest sympathies for the loss of your dad. I always remembered his love for the Civil War and while I have not seen your dad in many years, that thought would bring a smile to my face when I came across anything to do with the war. My prayers are with you during this most difficult time.
