Not sure what to say?

I just read in our retirement news of Bobs passing. My husband was also Boston Fire. His first day on the job @eng.24 a Boston Globe photographer took his picture, Caption "complete contentment". He was so happy to have become a Firefighter. Bob is standing in the picture's background with a wonderful smile on his face. Because I
have that picture on my dresser and speak to it everyday, I wonder if they are fighting fires in heaven together?
I see because of the picture on this page...

Dearest Johanne,
You are such a dear and true friend. My heart goes out to you and the entire wonderful Mullen family. Your father had a great sense of humor and made me laugh. I will remember to hold onto that smile and laughter. Love you.

thank you for all of your loving thoughts. The family got together and read all of your wishes. He affected so many, and will be loved forever. Loved always, but never forgoten.

I did not know John but having lived my whole life in Southie I just felt compelled to write. What a nice story of a man who seemed to have been so special. The memories of what he cherised hit home to this South Boston woman, especially Castle Island and teaching his grandson the words of our famous song. John seemed to have never forgot where he came from!!
May you cherish your memories and keep them close to your heart.
God Rest His Soul.
