GOD BE WITH YOU JOHN

We loved and respected John as a teacher, an artist, a friend and most of all as a Christian who lived his life as a model to us both. Ron and I have appreciated his prayers, his comfort during our own trials and his humor. We will miss him. He and his beautiful wife remain in our prayers and always in our hearts.Jesus will enjoy John's friendship for eternity. Love, Barbara and Ron Oligino

To Diedre and family,

I was so sorry to read about your dad. To your entire family, my thoughts and prayers are with you. I have many happy memories of childhood times shared both at school and at your home. May God bless your family during this sad time.

On the surface John and I could not have been more different. John's artistic ability, gentleness and grace were all that I am not. However, our friendship began and flourished because of a common love for Christ and through this common love John showed me how to be a better father, husband and person. During a difficult time in life while I was travelling each week for business, he made a point to seek me out while he and Barbara were visiting Dierdre and invite me to dinner. That act meant...

Wonderful John Nerreau please pray for us and especially your family as we all really, really miss you. Thank God for His eternal plans for all of us in heaven as otherwise your loss would be too much to bear.

I met John a few years ago when I was teamed up with him as a table leader on team for a men's cursillo weekend. We taught the men at our table about the love of God, but John taught me even more about God's love by his personal caring, hard work, sense of humour, and...

John Nerreau, the quiet, unassuming man who was our back-door neighbor became our personal horticultural and landscape advisor, and very good friend. We created a pathway between our yards, tucked in through the trees, just so we could visit with each other and trade plants, then as the years went by, just fun visits. John became an early evening visitor for a quick chat and cocktail, and his visits were always a special event. We would exchange jokes, gardening secrets, a multitude of plants...

Paul Gauguin once said "Life is hardly more than a fraction of a second, such a little time to prepare oneself for eternity". Mr. Nerreau was prepared. His accomplishments, his family and his faith are testaments to this. He was a nice man who seemed to have a gentle grace. The Town of Trumbull is a better place because of him, and I am glad I met him, albeit briefly, in what seems like a lifetime ago. My sincerest sympathy's go out to his wife, and to Deidre, Brian and Claudia. And thank you...
