JOHN O'NEILL Obituary
JOHN J. "JACK", 54, of Grayslake, IL formerly of Havertown, PA passed away on Sept. 26, 2014. He was born on Nov. 14, 1959 in Darby, PA. Jack was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Church and also belonged to Knights of Columbus. He was an IT project manager at Reynolds, LLC. Jack was a loving husband and best friend for 30 wonderful years to Michelle; beloved son of the late John and JoAnn O'Neill; beloved father of Aubrey, Erin, Michael and Kevin; dear brother of Mary Ellen (David) Golden, Judy (Ben) Singleton, Kathleen O'Keefe, Anne (Bruce) Robinson, Maureen (Joe) Nentwig and Peggy O'Neill. Also survived by 20 nieces and nephews. Jack treasured his family and many great friends more than anything. His practical wisdom, thoughtful guidance, and sense of humor endeared him to all. A Visitation will be held on Tues., Sept. 30, 2014 from 6-9 P.M. at MARSH FUNERAL HOME. Funeral Mass will be Wed. Oct. 1, 2014 at 10 A.M. at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 6401 Gages Lake Rd. Gurnee, IL. Int. will follow at Ascension Cem. Donations may be made to Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation (MMRF), 383 Main Ave, 5th Fl., Norwalk, CT 06851 www.themmrf.org

Mary Ellen and all of the O'Neill family, I never met your brother but wish to express my sympathy for his passing. This physical existence isn't easy. I met Jack through Ed and playing golf (summertime trips). He was always smiling and a friend to everyone. I have missed Jack on recent trips and will now forever thank him for some future shots (I know he will be there). My condolences. Jack,Michelle and all of the children are in my prayers.

To Jacks family I grew up and went to grade school with Jack.My memories of Jack were like others in the class just a whole lot of fun playing football in the mud at nelsons track.He was a big part of our lives growing up.That smile on his face in this picture is just how I remember him growing up.

Michelle, Aubrey, Erin, Michael and Kevin, My deepest sympathy goes out to you all. Although we live many miles apart Jack has been my best friend since freshman year in high school at Prep. I am so glad I spoke with him last week. He was so proud of his family. He also was ready to meet The Lord. He had a good run against his cancer. I wish he had many more years to go! Jack was a great guy growing up on North Concord. We started a street hockey team call the North Concord Flyers. We didn't win many games but it was great playing across the street in the church parking lot.

I dont know if Jack has ever talked about his friends from grade school,but I can tell you that when ever we have a reunion or a get together he is always one of the first to be asked about .Although its been many years since we played football at nelsons track, the fun we had there together will forever be in my heart and never forgotten.
