John P. Pace

June 11, 1939 - September 12, 2025

John P. Pace, 86, passed away on Friday, September 12, 2025, in Charlottesville, Va. John was born in Charlottesville, June 11, 1939, to William Pace Sr. and Josephine Duniphant Pace. In addition to his parents; he is preceded in death by a granddaughter, Melissa Benson Morris.

John met the love of his life in fifth grade and they cherished their many years together raising their family. He spent his younger years working on the family farm until he joined R.E. Lee & Sons Construction in Charlottesville. He loved his Lionel trains, Hank Williams, radio control airplanes, and Allis-Chalmers tractors.

Left to cherish John's memory is his loving wife of nearly 65 years, Virginia Pace; son, Alan Pace (Renee); daughter, Audrey Pace Sprouse (Charles); a very special granddaughter, Kasie Pace (fondly referred to as Booboo or Skipper); brothers, William Joab "Billy" Pace II, King Pace (Kim), Robert Pace, Gary Pace, and Ricky Pace (Janet); a sister, Brenda Pace; two great-grandchildren, Kaylee and Caleb Morris; and numerous nieces; and nephews; as well as additional family members.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Teague Funeral Service, 2260 Ivy Rd., Charlottesville, VA, 22903. A graveside service will be held Thursday, September 18, 2025 at 2 p.m., at Holly Memorial Gardens, 3251 Seminole Trail, Charlottesville, VA, 22911. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made in John's name to the Greene County Animal Shelter, 37 Jeri Allen Way, Ruckersville, VA, 22968.
