John Steven Platt

While I never met or knew John personally, I consider him a friend. I have read many of his adventures and literally followed his trail on more than one of my adventures in the back country of Idaho. I rarely head out on a grueling adventure without first consulting splattski.com, idahoalpinezone.com or other places on the web where he would invariably turn up to point me in the right direction. Thank you John.

We miss John, his smile, his tenacity, his dedication to high wild summits. This list goes on.

John was an incredible and talented person who lived life to the fullest. I will always remember him for his tremendous athletic skills and generosity toward others.

Dear Tom and Susan and the Platt family, Thinking of you as you say good-bye to John. No doubt he will be deeply missed.

Our hearts are broken that John was not able to stay with us on earth longer to enjoy and continue his contribution to its betterment for others. We wish we had been able to spend more time with him, but our last visit with him was so enjoyable and will be remembered forever.

We were so sorry to hear of John's passing. He will be remembered for his warm, friendly smile and willingness to always take the time to say hi and how is your day going? Our most sincere condolences to the family. He will be missed.

I'm am so sorry for your loss. I met John back in the aughts when he helped me with bike fitting. I felt like I was in the hands of an expert who cared about his work. My condolences to all of John's family and friends.
