He was a fascinating man. His wit was spontaneous and right on time with context the mark of a great mind. We have lost a wonderful person with a treasure trove of history, humor and civic pride too soon. John will be missed.

John was one of my favorite people...his warm and sometimes mischievous smile, sense of humor, passion for history and truth and his loyalty, devotion and compassion for his friends, family and animals i will remember most. He loved Tybee and his spirit will always be among those of us who knew and loved him. RIP my friend.
