Mr. John was truly an amazing man. It was a pleasure for me and my husband Jim to know him. We loved going fishing with Mr.John. I hope Me. John and my husband Jim are in heaven fishing The Paradise lake that I'm sure are heavenly father has.

There's not a day go by that there isn't something that reminds me of you mr. John you taught me a lot and like you said I taught you as well we shared and shared a like our ideas I'm a better person for having known you and Miss Marge you both enriched my life I hope that you and Jim are fishing up there in Paradise I miss you

Mr. John you sure taught me I did not need to use live bait to go fishing. I sure miss fishing with you at the pits in florida and up at Bald mountain lake. We sure caught a lot of fish. Thank you for keeping my wife busy we sure enjoyed the time we spent with you. Rest in peace my God Bless you and Ms. Marge.

I was Ms. Marge and Mr. Johns care giver from 2001- 2005 I was with him threw the loss of his wife Ms. marge in 2003. They were such a remarkable couple so in-love so caring for each other. I can not tell you all the meals I help prepare for quests at his summer home in Lake Lure, NC. and at his home in Sarasota, Florida. He loved having people over for dinner. John, Valerie, Betsy, Cathy: My sincere condolences on the passing of your famous father. My highest compliment would be that whenever an out of town friend would come into town, I would make sure that one of the first persons I wanted them to meet was John. Invariablly, whenever they returned for a visit they would always want to say hi to John.A really remarkable friend. Jack Miller

John, Cathy & Betsy, I was sorry to hear
that John passed away. He was a wonderful man who lived everyday to the
fullest. His civic, business and community efforts are legendary. John was truly "Mr Sarasota". His Bald Mt Lake
fishing is legendary. I never will forget the day he took a bite out of the
Governor's wife's corsage.
