I was Ms. Marge and Mr. Johns care giver from 2001- 2005 I was with him threw the loss of his wife Ms. marge in 2003. They were such a remarkable couple so in-love so caring for each other. I can not tell you all the meals I help prepare for quests at his summer home in Lake Lure, NC. and at his home in Sarasota, Florida. He loved having people over for dinner. I will never ever for get either of them. Both had taught me so much about life. I loved to listen to Mr. Johns stories over and over it did not mattere how many times I had heard it I still wanted to listen to it again. Oh and let me tell you Mr. Marge had a few stories of her own to tell they were great. Mr. John and I caught many fish out of Bald mountain lake to cook up for family and guests. The most thing I admired about Mr. John is no matter who you were or where you came from he treated you Like he was happy to know you. I enjoyed all the people he introduced me to threw the years, he was never ashamed of his caregiver, And I was never ashamed of him He made my life worth living after the death of my son in 2001 just knowing he needed me and wanted me to work with him. Every day with him was a gift and a adventure. I truely hope his children know how great it was to have a father like Mr. John and a mother like Ms. Marge. God Bless you both Rest in Peace Mr. John and Ms. Marge tell my Anthony I love him and we will all be together again one day. I can only hope. Love Kathleen Mae Kaufman
And to Mr. John and Ms. marges children I am sorry for your loss you dad will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
God bless you all.!!! [email protected]

John, Valerie, Betsy, Cathy: My sincere condolences on the passing of your famous father. My highest compliment would be that whenever an out of town friend would come into town, I would make sure that one of the first persons I wanted them to meet was John. Invariablly, whenever they returned for a visit they would always want to say hi to John.A really remarkable friend. Jack Miller

John, Cathy & Betsy, I was sorry to hear
that John passed away. He was a wonderful man who lived everyday to the
fullest. His civic, business and community efforts are legendary. John was truly "Mr Sarasota". His Bald Mt Lake
fishing is legendary. I never will forget the day he took a bite out of the
Governor's wife's corsage.

Betsy, John, and Cathy

What fond memories of a great man. No one will ever win as many Bowles Creek championships as your dad and I.
Looking back the Leverone's were extremely fortunate to have met and played sooooooo much golf with Honest John. He will be missed but never forgotten.

Cathy and family,

Thoughts and prayers to all of you. Your dad lived such a special life in Sarasota. As Nancy mentioned earlier, I remember such great times "looking for Christmas shoplifters" at the store and wonderful fun times at your home. My mother still talks about her trip to Lake Lure when we were 13 or 14 years old and the wonderful hospitality shown by your mom and dad. Love to all of you.

Dear Cathy, Betsy & John,
I was so saddened to hear your father passed. I have such fond memories of him. Cathy, I remember we'd take the bus downtown and spend the day at Maas Brother's. Your dad was always so cheerful and proud to show you off. He had such a big heart and shared his joy of life with everyone he met. Please know my thoughts and prayers are with all of you. You were blessed to have such a wonderful man as your father and for so many years...and I feel blessed to have known him.
With deep sympathy,
Nancy

Dear Cathy,Betsy & John:

All in our family were blessed, as were the 3 of you only far more so, by having as part of our lives your dynamic and charismatic father.

Although each of us enjoyed him in various venues, collectively we were all enriched by being his friend.

Thank you for sharing your paternal treasure with the Sheas. We will all miss him.
Lovingly,

John, Norman, Roger, Jim, June & Jack
