John Shull Obituary

STUARTS DRAFT - John Herbert Shull, 83, of 233 Dodge St., Stuarts Draft passed away at 9:30 p.m. Thursday, (Dec. 15, 2005) at Rockingham Memorial Hospital in Harrisonburg. He was born July 23, 1922 in Rockbridge County, the son of the late John A. and Callie Monroe Shull. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and retired from Wayne-Tex in 1985. He was a member of the Tennessee Walking Horse Association, the American Quarter Horse Association and was a member of the Eagles Aerie 4129 of Fishersville. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Oscar, Russell, Ernest, Briscoe, Roscoe, Donald, Wayne, Warren and Mervin Shull; and sisters, Virginia Cash and Mary Martin. Survivors include a daughter, Stephanie Marshall of Waynesboro; former wife and friend, Mary Shull Gallimore; two step-daughters, Faye Patterson of Grottoes and Gwen Bartlebaugh of Afton; two brothers, Ronald and Aubrey Shull both of Fairfield; a sister, Audrey Taylor of Roanoke; two grandchildren, Allen Wayne Shull and Danielle Nicole Marshall; and a number of great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, (Dec. 20, 2005) at Augusta Memorial Park with the Rev. Roger Shull officiating. Military rites will be conducted by Stuarts Draft VFW Post #9339. The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Monday, (Dec. 19, 2005) at Reynolds Funeral Service of Waynesboro. Family members will assemble at the funeral home by 1:30 p.m. to ride in procession to the cemetery.
