CAPTAIN JOHN SIM SLAUGHTER USN (RET)

What a difficult day for all the family - but 103 action packed years leaves many wonderful memories!
I enjoyed my time serving on the Destroyer Division 38 Alumni committee, and all the time that gave me with "Captain Jack!" After 55 years of knowing him, I feel like I'm losing my grandfather!
I'll be flying in from Ireland on Monday. See you all at the Naval Academy on Tuesday.

We were saddened to learn of Capt. Slaughter's death. He was very special and loved by so many at the Colonnade. Nathan, my grandson, will miss him very much. He visited him with the Thomsen's when he was last home from boarding school. Nathan will always treasure things given to him by Capt Slaughter.Our sincerest sympathy, Joyce Ann Burman
