To the Sledge Family -
When I became President of Moore County NAACP, Mr. Sledge was one of my go-to persons. His advice was greatly appreciated in assisting me to carry out social and equal justice for all people of Moore County. The Moore County NAACP Executive Committee Members and general membership send our deepest sympathy.

An icon for a community where black men are men whom legacy become pillar for black men whom the Lord bless. His legacy shall continue to guide us black men...May the peace of joy remain entrusted within you hearts...God loves you.

Mrs Sledge and family
Your family are in my prayers. May God bless and comfort you.

Our prayers are with you during this time of bereavement.

I learned a lot from John Sledge. He was an untiring giant. always trying to help others. He was called home by the Master and is now enjoying himself as chairman of the board in heaven.

To Mrs.Sledge and family God bless in your time of sorrow.

To the Sledge Family; John was a great inspiration and leader in this community. He will be remembered for a long time to come.
