John and I were friends at Friends School and then we lost track. Sounds like he was blessed with a wonderful life, family and profession. My sincere condolences. Godspeed.

Dr. Stokes was wonderful doctor. I was blessed to have one of the best doctors who really care of you. I really enjoyed how he would lighten the mood in the room with one of his jokes. My thoughts and prayers to his family. Kenny Spriggs

Dr. Stokes was my PCP, I was notified of his passing a day ago. This hit me hard as I had just seen him early September for an appointment and he was just fine. He was my guy, as cool as it gets and always kept it real with me. Rest peacefully Dr. Stokes, you'll be missed.

Skipper was my homeboy and Hamptonian classmate. He was also best friends with my long-time Hamptonian buddy,Errol Taylor. I always rooted for Skipper's success in obtaining his medical license. Reaching that goal was what he dreamed about most while we attended Hampton together. Sending rays of loving, healing energy to John's family.
Sincerely,
