My aunt Willa Mae Nesmith Lanier from Statesboro and I want to offer our condolences to the family. We knew him as "little Johnny" since his grandfather Nesmith was Johnny. My aunt and Mother were first cousins with John's grandmother Ethel Nesmith and we were very close to Ethel until her later years.
