John E. Turco

I was deeply saddened to hear of Dr. Turco's passing. He was an inspiration to me when I was a student at Garfield High School from 1964-1967. When I graduated he gave me a Webster's Seventh New Collegiate Dictionary with the inscription "Presented by the Social Studies Department of Garfield High School to Richard Hernandez the outstanding social studies student of the graduating class of January, 1967. John E. Turco, Social Studies Department Chairman."
