John was a great man who truly cared about the kids he coached, he was true mentor and leader of his players RIP JV......

I just learned about John's passing. I worked with him at the former Kingsbury Center, and remember him as a compassionate, caring, and generous human being. My condolences to his family. May he rest in peace.

To the whole Vassos family, Joan, your children, Thea Elaine and Katina. We want to pass on our sincere condolences. We were so sorry to hear about John. You may not know this, but my daughter Katrina and I have some very fond memories of John. Katrina is physically disabled and uses a wheelchair. When she started Sunday school at St Sophia they still had the little house next door for classes. John was the main volunteer to help carry Katrina in and out along with her wheelchair. I have known Johnny since he was a little boy to anyone that knew him they would remark about the deep voice of the delightful little boy
He was always a happy little boy
He had wonderful parents and sister
Johnny and I lost touch but I will not forget him
To his mother Elaine and sister Katina I can only say that I will always cherish the time I spent at the Vassos house as a boy
