Our deepest sympathy to you and your family. My mother Clara Kuzik (Agopsowicz) who passed away in 1988 was John's first cousin. We were proud to watch his many shows over the years and he always reminded my of the grandfather, John Agopsowicz (my mother's dad)

Our heartfelt sympathy goes out to you & your family & friends at this time. My mother Helen Traverse(nee Agopsowicz),who presently lives in Vernon, B.C., was John's first cousin. Our family was also very proud of John's accomplishments. I actually had the pleasure of meeting John several years ago in Zehner, Sask., while he was up here filming a documentary about his life.

Mr. Vernon was a connsumate actor and truly kind man. In total contrast to his imposing looks and voice.

He charmed everyone with the tale of seeing himself onscreen in "A Special Day", wherin...

My brother Desmond and I were sorry to hear of John's(Vernon's) passing. We knew John (Vern) since 'way back since when we lived in the same house in Regina on Halifax Steet about 1937-38. Our condolences to Ernie and all of John's family. We were all happy to see Vernon become a great success.
He made the world a better place by his presence and the sharing of his great gift to us all.

John Vernon was a Canadian Icon. Even though I never met the man, he was my measure of what a man could become. As a young lad of 7, I was heavily influenced by his role as Wojek, (Wojek was a coroner, but I was too young to realize this). I grew up wanting to become a lawyer just like John Vernon. This led me to develop a suspicious mean streak, ready to explode at a moments notice. My stern poker face, which I display to my kids, is, I’m sure, also patterned off of Wojek.
