We had read Jack Warner's columns for years and were amazed that he was also a talented Potter and wood turner. He was indeed gruff and Donna was always lovely. I think I found an address and wrote him a note after I read Shikar. What a talented and interesting man.

He remains my favorite curmudgeon. I was stunned to read that he never attended college, as he was one of the most learned people I had ever met.
His was certainly a life fully and richly lived.

Jack taught me so much when we both worked at the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. He was a hard-hitting journalist for sure, but also a true gentleman.
