Very sorry to hear of John's passing. I have worked for the Corps for many years and John always treated me kindly and with great respect, and I in turn did likewise. I am very sad to say the least as I am sure many that knew him are. I first met John in Keokuk Iowa early nineties. I had to climb down the lock wall ladder to the barge and it was a long climb.
