I am sorry for your family's loss. White's Pharmacy was an important landmark in my childhood when I would walk the two blocks down Livingston Avenue to spend my $1 allowance on a teen magazine and a Hershey's bar. Then in my late teens and early college years, Mr. White had hired me to work in the pharmacy and Hallmark gallery. He employed three Thornton kids - Joan, Jack and myself - and several of my friends and soon-to-be friends during those years. I remember a lot of work expectations...

John, was in Columbus for the OSU game this past weekend,so only read about your Dad's passing Monday morning. Truly sorrow for your loss. I see that your Mom is gone too.

Please accept my sincere sympathy in the loss of your father (grandfather). I have such fond memories of Mr White. White's Pharmacy was the "Candy Store" for me growing up as a young girl. I was thrilled when I was old enough to walk to his store by myself and even more thrilled when Mr White gave me a job in high school. He was my first teacher in customer service and I'm so grateful for everything he taught me! One of my fondest memories of course is the Christmas party he and Mrs White...
