ZIELINSKI, JOHN CHARLES, died peacefully on Friday, March 15, as the result of lung cancer complicated by nocardia. He is survived by his beloved wife, Kim, and devoted daughters, Lan
Theresa, Kelley Thao and only beloved grandchild, Amanda Nicole. John was born in Superior, WI, on March 22, 1931. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Mary Zielinski of Superior, brothers Edmund Zielinski and wife Katy of Phoenix; Ted Zielinski of Washington, DC, Henry Zielinski of San Francisco, and Arthur Zielinski of Superior. Also preceded in death by sisters Isabelle Swanson of Seattle, Adelle Schuler and husband, Jim, of Silver Spring, MD. Also brother-in-law, Dick Farnsworth of Winter Springs, FL. John is survived by his sister Gloria Norris of Fairfield, IA; brother Stan Zielinski and wife, Joyce of Isle, MN; sisters Rita Sullivan and husband Greg of Omaha, NE; Imelda Harnstrom and husband Jack of Superior; and
Marie Farnsworth of Winter Springs, FL. In addition to his family and siblings, he is survived by many loving nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Following his service in the United States Army, John graduated from Georgetown University School of Foreign Service and served with the US Navy Department in Vietnam. He was instrumental in the evacuations of the Tet Offensive in 1973; and later served as chief civilian officer at the Pearl Harbor Shipyard for approximately ten years. John then returned to Washington, DC, to complete his government service before settling with his family in Oviedo where he was an active member of the St Joseph Catholic Church.
