Jon Ralph Borgen

Jon called a few years ago to praise a letter I sent to the State Journal in support of returning the sport of baseball to UW Madison. We stayed in contact, and he was included as a founder of Badger Baseball Boosters which has had a Facebook page promoting a return of UW baseball. Said he wanted to be around for the return of UW baseball. He joins a long list of people who will not live to see such a day. May his spirit inspire us to keep working for that day to come. I send my deepest sympathy to the family. I babysat for Nancy and Jon when they rented from my parents on 16 street growing up. They were wonderful friends and neighbors..I believe Jon introduced the "Beefeater" martinis to my dad. I have so many memories of the kids and Nancy. Loved them dearly. Goes back to the days of babysitting 4 kids for 25 cents an hour! My sister Susie just passed away in December and Jon hired her at Belscot. Rest In Peace

My sympathy to the Borgen family. My husband, Linse Temte, worked with Jon when Bell Discount opened in La Crosse. Linse passed away over two years ago. So many fond memories!

Had the pleasure of knowing Jon,what a nice person and so much fun to work with. He was also a gifted wood worker. Our best goes to Carol and Family.

What a neat guy! Jon also was a long-time friend of my Big Brother Dick. I remember going to Borgen's Cafe on Main Street in Westby for lutefisk. I'm so glad that Jon got to take trips to Norway to visit family & friends. A very fine fellow.
