Not sure what to say?

Thinking of Jon today. I met him as a student athlete at Glenbrook North High School. Then later our paths crosses as he coached his high school teams running at Niles West HS. He was a very kind and generous man and always did the best for his student athletes. May he rest in peace.

My thoughts & prayers are with your family at this time. Gail Goldman

I can't believe it has been a year. Miss you Jon

Jon was my room mate at NMU, living at 309 Center in Marquette, we ran XC as team mates. It was a house of team mates-Jon was driven to be the best runner he could be. Gone too soon, RIP Jon.

Dear Marilyn and Bob, I´m sending my warmest condolences to you and your family. Love, Jewel

My condolences to the Gordon family. I was an assistant track and field coach at Northside Prep for two years under Jon. In all my many years of coaching I have never met a more dedicated, loyal coach. He truly had the well-being of all his athletes foremost in his mind. The world of high school athletics needs more coaches like Coach Gordon. He will be sorely missed.

I was fortunate enough to be coached by Jon Gordon at Northside College Prep from 2007-2011. Some favorite memories would include winning regional and city cross country championships, trips to Peoria for meets, and some of the pasta parties you could imagine! He truly was a great source of knowledge about the sport and a fixture in the NCP and CPS communities throughout his tenure. I´ll always have fond memories of coach and the impact he had on my and other young runners lives. Peace be...

As the father of one of Jon´s athletes and a lifelong runner myself, I have never seen a more inspiring, dedicated, and caring coach in my life. The lessons he taught and encouragement he gave will be with all those he coached for their entire lives. May he rest in peace. Dave Ullrich.

My sincere condolences to the Gordon family. My son met Coach Gordon on freshman orientation day at Northside College Prep, and he recruited him on the spot to the cross country team even though my son had never gone for a run a day in his life. That changed the course of my son´s life, from feeling successful when he devoted himself to something, to getting in shape and being healthy, to meeting a diverse and accepting community of runners, to making friends for life. Multiply that by the...
